1. Mang nghĩa "theo hướng, về phía, hướng về"
=used for saying in which direction someone or something is going, facing, or looking a stream of traffic speeding towards

- West London I saw Joanna hurrying towards me along the drive.
- Victor was standing with his back towards me.
- She directed a brief glance towards Peter.

2. Mang nghĩa "trong quan hệ với, đối với"
=used when saying how you feel about someone or something or how you treat them

- He’s not feeling very friendly towards you at the moment.

3. Mang nghĩa "nhằm, với mục đích (đóng góp..)"
=in order to help to pay for something

4. Mang nghĩa "gần, vào khoảng (một điểm thời gian, nơi chốn)"
=near a time or place

5. Mang nghĩa"tới gần hơn để đạt (cái gì)"
=used for showing how a process is developing in a way that will produce a particular result
