I. Dùng "automatic" như tính từ (Adj)
1. Mang nghĩa"tự động"
=an automatic machine or process works by itself rather than being operated by people/an automatic weapon continues to shoot bullets until you take your finger off the trigger

2. Mang nghĩa"vô thức, làm theo thói quen"
=done without thinking about it/done without conscious thought or intention, especially because of habit an automatic response

3. Mang nghĩa"tất yếu (nói về hậu quả)"
=happening as a result of specific conditions, rules, or laws, without a special decision being made/certain to happen as part of the normal process or system

- Citizenship is automatic for children born in this country.
- You get an automatic promotion after two years.
II. Dùng "automatic" như danh từ (noun)
Mang nghĩa"máy tự động; thiết bị tự động; súng tự động"
=a vehicle in which you do not have to change the gears/a gun that is able to keep loading (= adding bullets) and shooting continuously for as long as the trigger is pressed

- In the US, most cars are automatics, while in the UK they are still mostly manual.
