I. outside dùng như adv
Mang nghĩa bên ngoài, ngoài kia ‘not in a building’

- It was sunny outside, but not very warm

II. outside dùng như adj
Mang nghĩa external (bên ngoài)

- They’re calling on outside investors for more support.

outside work (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: việc làm ở ngoài trời)
III. outside dùng như preposition (giới từ)
1. Mang nghĩa ở ngoài, ở gần phía ngoài ‘not in a particular place, but near it’

There’s a chair just outside the room opposite.
She works in a software development company just outside of Dublin.
2. Mang nghĩa ở ngoài nơi mà đang nói đến (anywhere else apart from a particular place)

3. outside of + noun = apart from

- Outside of the summer months, the hotel rates are lower.
IV. outside dùng như danh từ
