2. Cách dùng
2.1. Mang nghĩa"biết; hiểu biết"
=to have learned or found out about something/used about things that most people think or believe are true
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Với nghĩa này, know vừa là nội động từ, vừa là ngoại động từ
- know (that)
- know what/where/how etc
- know if
- know something about someone/something
- know something for sure/for certain/for a fact
- know something from experience
- know someone/something to be something
- know someone/something to do something

- ‘Have they arrived yet?’ ‘I don’t know.’ If you don’t know the answer, just guess.
- How do you know my name?
- I knew she wasn’t really happy.
- I don’t know where the money’s coming from.
- I need to know if she’s made a decision yet.

- We know for a fact that the fire was started deliberately.
- We know from experience that unemployment makes the problem worse.
- The ancient city is known to have existed in the region.
- The pilots were experienced and known to be very competent.
- Some drugs are known to cause damage to unborn children.
2.2. Mang nghĩa"quen biết với ai"
=to be familiar with someone, because you have met them or because you are friends/to be familiar with a place, because you have been there

2.3. Mang nghĩa"coi ai/cái gì như là cái gì; gọi, đặt tên riêng hay gán cho ai/cái gì như cái gì"
=to use a particular name for someone or something/to remember or recognize someone because of a particular skill or quality that they have

- know someone/something by something
- know someone as/for something

=to experience something

=to feel certain about something
