II. Cách dùng
1. Mang nghĩa "quá trình ở; quá trình cư trú; thời gian cư trú"
=the fact that someone lives somewhere, or the period of time that they spend living there / Someone's residence in a particular place is the fact that they live there or that they are officially allowed to live there.
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Với nghĩa này, residence là danh từ không đếm được
- take up residence (=start to live somewhere)
- apply for/seek residence
- offer sb/give sb residence
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- After many years of residence in Paris, he returned home.
- He took up residence in Hollywood in 1999.
- They had entered the country and had applied for permanent residence.

- An estimated 60% of the workers intend to seek permanent residence.

2. Mang nghĩa "nhà, nhà lớn, nguy nga tráng lệ; dinh thự"
=a house or other place where someone lives, especially a large house used by an important person
