2. Cách dùng
2.1. Mang nghĩa"theo thứ tự"
=the way in which a set of things is arranged or done, so that it is clear which thing is first, second, third etc

- order of
- in order (=in the correct order)
- out of order (=in the wrong order)
- in alphabetical/chronological/numerical order (=in order according to spelling, time, or number)
- in order of priority/importance/frequency etc
- in reverse order (=in the opposite order to what is normal)
- Với nghĩa này, order vừa là danh từ đếm được vừa không đếm được

- You can change the order of the list by using the ‘sort’ command.
- Please try to keep the pictures in order.

=a request for a product to be made for you or delivered to you

2.3. Mang nghĩa"loại, hạng"
=a particular type or quality

- Với nghĩa này, order là danh từ số ít
- of a high/the highest order (=of the best or worst type)
- of a high order

- We accept that peaceful protest should be allowed, but this is something of a very different order.
- Storms of this order are fortunately quite rare.
- The job calls for problem-solving skills

2.4. Mang nghĩa"trật tự, nội quy, thủ tục (ở nghị viện, ở hội trường...), nghi lễ (tôn giáo)"
=a situation in which people obey the law and follow the accepted rules of social behaviour

- social/public order
- maintain/restore order

2.5. Mang nghĩa"gọi món, đặt hàng"
=a request for food or drink in a restaurant or hotel/a request for a product to be made for you or delivered to you

- take someone’s order (=record what a customer wants)
- Với nghĩa này, order là danh từ đếm được
- order for

- on order (=asked for but not yet supplied)
