2. Cách dùng
2.1. Mang nghĩa"ngày (thời gian 24 giờ)"
=one of the periods of time that a week is divided into, equal to 24 hours/the period of time when you are awake and doing things every day
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Với nghĩa này, day là danh từ đếm được
- 24 hours a day (=during the whole of the day and night)
- all day (long)
- a bad/hard/long day (=a difficult or unpleasant day)
- a day off (=a day when you do not work)
- a day out (=a day when you go out somewhere for fun or enjoyment)
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- We’re going away for five days.
- The animals are kept inside for 14 hours a day.
- The shop is open 24 hours a day.

- You should try to go for a walk every day.

2.2. Mang nghĩa"ban ngày"
=the period of time when it is light outside

- Với nghĩa này, day vừa là danh từ đếm được vừa không đếm được
- during the day
- by day (=during the day)

- There was not enough of the day left to finish the game.
- The restaurant is only open during the day.

2.3. Mang nghĩa"cái lúc mà, khi xưa"
=a period of time in the past or future

=a period of time when you are doing a particular thing, or when something is happening or is successful
