1. Being (Danh từ đếm được): mang nghĩa con người, sinh vật (a person or thing that exists)
thường dùng:
- human/living beings
IELTS TUTOR lấy ví dụ:
- A nuclear war would kill millions of living beings.
- Strange beings from outer space are still a popular subject for sci-fi movies.
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
Ở 2 ví dụ, có nghĩa là nhiều sinh vật sống (ví dụ 1), nhiều vật thể lạ (ví dụ 2) cho nên là thêm s nhé, số ít thì để being mà thêm mạo từ a phía trước
Ví dụ khác:
- Some fans seem to regard footballers as divine beings.
- The United States is in the van of the quest to establish contact with beings from the beyond.
- There was a man on the news last night who reckons we've been visited by beings from other worlds.
- Dinosaurs pre-existed human beings by many millions of years.
2. Being (Danh từ không đếm được): mang nghĩa sự tồn tại, sự sống
thường xuất hiện thành cụm:
- Come into being = exist

- All living creatures are thought to descend from an organism that came into being three billion years ago.
- The group came into being (= began to exist) to help relatives of the terminally ill.
