II. Cách dùng danh từ "need"
1. Mang nghĩa "sự cần thiết"
=a situation in which it is necessary for something to be done
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- need mang nghĩa này sẽ là danh từ không đếm được / hoặc ở số ít
- need for
- a need to do something
if need be: (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: nếu cần thiết, khi cần)
- in case of need: (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: trong trường hợp cần thiết)
- to have need of something
- to stand (to be ) in need of something: (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: cần cái gì)

- The bank will lend us more money, should the need arise.
- The government recognizes the need for immediate action.
- There isn’t much need for further research.
- We feel there is a need to improve internal communications.

2. Mang nghĩa "nhu cầu"
=something that you need in order to be healthy, comfortable, successful etc someone’s needs

- need mang nghĩa này sẽ là danh từ đếm được & ở số nhiều
- meet a need (=provide what is needed)

- People with mental health problems have special needs.
- We want this school to meet the needs of all our children.
III. Lỗi sai thường gặp với danh từ "need"
1. Dùng giới từ "for"khi + noun

- Nếu need đi với danh từ nếu + giới từ of là sai, giới từ of chỉ đi với cụm in need of (IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ: Support is available for those who are in need of it)

2. Nếu + verb thì động từ ở to-inf không dùng ving
