II. Cách dùng đại từ sở hữu"ours"
1. Giới thiệu chung
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Ours là đại từ sở hữu của "we" (Ours is a possessive pronoun, being a possessive form of we)
- Đại từ sở hữu ours đóng vai trò chức năng ngữ pháp của 1 đại từ, tức là có thể đóng vai trò như 1 chủ ngữ hoặc 1 tân ngữ với cách dùng giống như 1 noun (it can be the subject, object, or complement of a verb or the object of a preposition)
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- China’s economy is very different from ours (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: ở đây ours = our economy)
- Their chairs may have cost more, but ours are more comfortable.
2. Mang nghĩa"của chúng ta"
=used for referring to something that belongs to or is connected with you and the group that you are a part of, when you are the person speaking or writing

- Ours is the third house on the left.
- If you don’t have a barbecue, you can borrow ours.
- These are someone else’s seats – those must be ours over there.
- Your system is completely different from ours. of ours: this great country of ours
- ours is a large family (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: gia đình chúng tôi là một gia đình lớn)
- There are few strangers in a town like ours.
- Half the houses had been fitted with alarms and ours hadn't.
- Those coats are ours. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Mấy cái áo khoác đó là của chúng tôi đó)
- The championship is ours. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Chức vô địch về tay chúng tôi)
