I. Về chức năng
1. Alongside là giới từ (preposition)
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- alongside là giới từ, nên sẽ tuân theo chức năng & vị trí của giới từ (preposition) mà IELTS TUTOR đã hướng dẫn
2. Alongside là trạng từ (adverb)
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- I parked my car in the drive and William parked his alongside (mang nghĩa là bên cạnh - next to)
II. Về nghĩa
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Alongside có nghĩa là sát cạnh, dọc theo, bên cạnh (‘close beside’, ‘next to’ or ‘together with’)
- Thông thường alongside + noun
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- The trees alongside the fence have all been damaged by the wind. (near)
- Put your bike alongside mine. (next to)
- I find it difficult to cope with this illness alongside all my other problems. (together with)
