II. Cách dùng
1. Mang nghĩa "nhắc lại, lặp lại cái gì"
=to say or write something again

- repeat that

- Can you repeat what you just said, please?
- The first line is repeated throughout the poem.
- Please repeat my question. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Làm ơn lặp lại câu hỏi của tôi)
- If you repeat those allegations, we will consult our lawyers.
- He repeated that he was not interested in buying a new car.
2. Mang nghĩa "ai đó làm lại cái gì"
=to happen, or to do something, more than once

- repeat yourself = to say the same thing again, or the same things again and again = nhắc đi nhắc lại, lặp đi lặp lại

- The test must be repeated several times.
- This is an offer never to be repeated.
- Johnny had to repeat a year/class at school.
- Some historians think that history repeats itself.
- If you don’t pass this exam you’ll have to repeat a year.
- Repeat the exercise eight times with each leg.
- When they repeated the experiment, the results were completely different.
- His speech was dreadful - he just kept repeating himself.
3. Mang nghĩa "kể lại, thuật lại"
=to tell someone something that someone else has told you

- I’ll tell you a secret, but please don’t repeat it to anyone.

4. Mang nghĩa "lặp lại nhiều lần cho hiểu"
=to say or write something that you have heard or read because you are trying to learn or understand it

- repeat something after someone

- She can repeat the poem from memory (=without looking at it).
- The students carefully repeated the words after the teacher.
