II. Cách dùng
1. Mang nghĩa "dẫn đường ai đi, hướng dẫn, dẫn dắt (chỉ đường bằng cách đi cùng người đó)"
=to take someone somewhere, by going with them

- Là ngoại động từ khi đi với nghĩa này
- Hay đi cùng với adv / prep (trạng từ / giới từ)
- lead the way (=show others the way to a place): dẫn đường
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- She led them down the hall.
- The waiter led us to our table.
- Our guide led us through the mountains.
- She led us down the hill.
- After showing us the dining room, the estate agent led us into the kitchen.
- Sheila turned and led the way downstairs.
- You've been there before - why don't you lead the way?
2. Mang nghĩa "chiến thắng, dẫn đầu, vượt lên dẫn trước, dẫn bàn (trong thể thao / cạnh tranh/ kinh tế)"
=(especially in sports or other competitions) to be in front, to be first, or to be winning

- lead the field
- lead the world (in something)
- lead the way

- The Lions are leading the Hawks 28–9.
- The company has been leading the way in network applications for several years.
3. Mang nghĩa "lãnh đạo, cầm đầu, phụ trách"
=to control a group of people, a country, or a situation / to be in control of the way in which a discussion or conversation develops

- lead something away from something:

4. Mang nghĩa "đưa đến, dẫn đến, khiến ai làm điều gì (xấu)"
=to cause someone to do something, especially something bad

5. Mang nghĩa "trải qua, sống theo cách nào đó"
=to live your life in a particular way

- lead a good/happy/busy/quiet etc life

- He had always led a quiet life until he met Emma.

He was able to lead a normal life, despite the illness.
We certainly don't lead a life of luxury but we're not poor either.
6. Mang nghĩa "con đường, con sông, cửa dẫn đến..."
=if something (especially of roads, paths, doors, signs, information, etc.) leads in a particular direction or to a particular place, or if it leads you there, it goes in that direction or to that place
