II. Cách dùng
1. Mang nghĩa "giúp đỡ, cứu giúp"
=to give someone support or information so that they can do something more easily
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Help với nghĩa này vừa là ngoại động từ, vừa là nội động từ
- help someone (to) do something
- help someone with something
- help someone through something

- If you are finding that difficult, I could help you.
- Mary was anxious to help.
- Can you help me find my glasses?
- Her brother offered to help her with her homework.
- They helped me through a very difficult time.
2. Mang nghĩa "đưa mời (đồ ăn, thức uống)"
=to give someone something, especially food or drink help someone to something

- Help với nghĩa này là nội động từ
- help yourself to something (=take some of it)

- Can I help you to more vegetables?
- Help yourselves to more wine.
3. Mang nghĩa "làm cho cái gì dễ xảy ra"
=to make a situation better / to make it easier to achieve something

- help towards

- More police officers on the streets would help.
- Organic farming methods help the environment.
- The new measure will help boost trade.
- We hope this helps to clarify the situation.
- Further study will help towards a better understanding of the problem.
III. Cấu trúc thường gặp với "help"
1. Help

2. Help sb: giúp đỡ ai

3. Help with sth: giúp cái gì đó

- He always helps with the housework.
4. Help sb with sth: giúp ai cái gì đó

- Jo will help us with some of the organization.
5. Help in doing sth: giúp trong việc gì đó

- Following these steps will help in protecting our environment.
6. Help sb (to) do sth: giúp đỡ ai làm việc gì

- Come and help me lift this box.
- This charity aims to help people to help themselves.
- The college's aim is to help students achieve their aspirations.
7. Help (to) do sth: giúp làm cái gì đó

- Some history may help to explain why this is.
8. Help sb out (with sth): giúp ai đó ra khỏi khó khăn rắc rối, thường là cho tiền hoặc là làm giúp việc gì đó
