Vì OUT OF là giới từ nên sẽ tuân thủ cách dùng và vị trí của giới từ mà IELTS TUTOR đã hướng dẫn kĩ trước đó
1. out of somewhere/sth: không còn ở nơi nào nữa / cái gì nữa
Ví dụ:
- An apple rolled out of the bag.
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: không còn ở trong túi nữa
- Professor Aitchison is out of town this week.
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: không còn ở thành phố
- The patient is now out of danger.
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: hết nguy hiểm
- The coffee machine is out of order (= does not work).
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: không hoạt động được nữa
- Both she and her husband are out of work (= no longer have jobs).
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: không có việc làm
2. OUT OF mang nghĩa được làm từ (used to show what something is made from)
Ví dụ:
- He made a hat for himself out of newspaper.
- Helmets and bullet-proof vests are often made out of Kevlar.
- He carves garden ornaments out of wood and sells them.
- The cake decorations are made out of sugar, so you can eat them if you like.
- Didn't you know that butter was made out of milk?
3. OUT OF mang nghĩa vì lý do gì (used to show the reason why someone does something)
Ví dụ:
- I took the job out of necessity because we had no money left.
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: vì gấp bách, túng quẫn
- You might like to come and see what we're doing out of interest (= because I think you might be interested).

4. OUT OF mang nghĩa trong số đó (from among an amount or number) = among+....
Ví dụ:
- Out of all my friends, she is the most ambitious.

- He's the only child out of the whole class who's not going on the school trip.
- I've heard that, out of all the applicants for the job, he was the only graduate.
- Nine out of ten cats prefer this brand of cat food, apparently.
- I should be able to find one dress out of all this lot that suits me.
5. Dùng sau verb mang nghĩa không còn nữa (no longer involved in)
Ví dụ:
- I got out of the habit of riding my bike to work.
