1. [Nghĩa đen] THE ENVIRONMENT
Mang nghĩa "môi trường"
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Với nghĩa này, environment là danh từ đếm được (thường ở số ít)
=the natural world, including the land, water, air, plants, and animals, especially considered as something that is affected by human activity/Your environment consists of the particular natural surroundings in which you live or exist, considered in relation to their physical characteristics or weather conditions.
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- Industrial development is causing widespread damage to the environment.
- Certain chemicals have been banned because of their damaging effect on the environment.
- We're not doing enough to protect the environment from pollution.
- Littering will affect the environment. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Xả rác sẽ làm ảnh hưởng đến môi trường)
- If our environment cools, then messages from the skin alert the body's thermostat.
- ...the maintenance of a safe environment for marine mammals.

=the place in which people live and work, including all the physical conditions that affect them/Someone's environment is all the circumstances, people, things, and events around them that influence their life.
