1. Mang nghĩa "điều bình thường ai cũng vậy, bình thường ở huyện"
=something that is usual or expected
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- the norm = a situation or type of behaviour that is expected and considered to be typical (quy chuẩn, điều bình thường, ai cũng vậy)
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- Computer-generated images will become an accepted norm in films.
- These children live in communities where failure is the norm.
- Fast cars have become the norm.
- One child per family is fast becoming the norm in some countries.
- Modern fashion has become the norm. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Thời trang hiện đại đã trở thành một chuẩn mực chung)
- These children live in society where failure is the norm. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Những đứa trẻ này sống trong xã hội nơi sự thất bại là một chuẩn mực chung)
- Athletes who fall below the norm should be encouraged to improve. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Những vận động viên sa sút dưới mức chuẩn trung bình nên được động viên để tiến bộ)
- Students who fall below the norm should be encouraged to improve.
- Yields fell below the norm for the third year in succession.
- Delays are likely to be the norm for air travel in the next few weeks.
2. Mang nghĩa "bộ quy tắc (ứng xử)"
=standards of behaviour that are accepted in a particular society
