1. preferable (adj) thích hợp hơn, tốt hơn = more desirable, better
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- be preferable for sb: tốt hơn cho ai
- be preferable to sth: tốt hơn cái gì
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- Anything would be preferable to war.
- Staying at home is certainly preferable to going out with someone you don't like
- IELTS TUTOR giải thích: be preferable to sth / ving như IELTS TUTOR giải thích ở trên có nghĩa là tốt hơn, như vậy câu này có nghĩa là ở nhà thì chắc chắn là tốt hơn đi ra ngoài với người mà không thích

3. preferred (adj) được ưa thích hơn, ưu đãi hơn
=liked or wanted more than anything else
