I. Cách dùng danh từ "habit"
1. "habit" vừa là danh từ đếm được, vừa không đếm được

2.1. Mang nghĩa "thói quen, lề thói"
=A habit is something that you do often or regularly.
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- habit với nghĩa này vừa là danh từ đếm được, vừa không đếm được
- a good/bad habit
- be in the habit of doing something
- get in/into the habit of doing something
- out of habit/from force of habit (=because it is what you usually do)

- He has an endearing habit of licking his lips when he's nervous.
- Many people add salt to their food out of habit, without even tasting it first.
- ...a survey on eating habits in the U.K
- healthy eating habits

- He had acquired some rather bad habits at college.
- They were in the habit of going for long walks.
- George has got into the habit of going to bed late.
- Whenever I walk by her building I look up at her window from sheer force of habit.
2.2. Mang nghĩa "thói xấu, tật xấu (ví dụ thói hít ma tuý)"
=A habit is an action which is considered bad that someone does repeatedly and finds it difficult to stop doing / A drug habit is an addiction to a drug such as heroin or cocaine

- kick/break the habit (=stop it)

II. Collocation với "habit"

- break the habit of: bỏ thói quen (làm gì đó)

- out of habit: theo thói quen

- make a habit of it = let it become a habit

- a creature of habit: người chỉ thích làm mọi việc theo lối mòn, theo thói quen

- in the habit of: không có thói quen (làm gì đó)
