I. "by-product" là danh từ đếm được

II. Cách dùng
1. Mang nghĩa "chất được sản xuất ra trong khi chế tạo một cái khác; sản phẩm phụ"
=a product that is made as a result of making another product
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- a by-product of sth
- oil/animal/chemical by-products
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- the by-products of petroleum refining
- Selenium is a by-product of copper refining.
- ammonia , coal tar and coke are all by-products obtained in the manufacture of coal gas (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: amoniac, nhựa than đá, than cốc đều là sản phẩm phụ trong việc chế tạo khí than đá)
2. Mang nghĩa "tác dụng phụ"
=something that is not intended or has not been planned but happens as a result of another situation or something that you do

- a by-product of sth

- An increase in crime is the by-product of poverty and unemployment.
- Higher than expected tax revenues were a by-product of the booming economy.
